REIKI

Reiki (pronounced Ray-Key) is a system of natural hands-on healing originating in Japan. Reiki means "universal life energy", the vital energy around and within all living things.

The method of receiving Reiki treatment from a practitioner is a very simple process. The recipient simply lies on a couch and relaxes. If they are unable to lie down the treatment can be given in a sitting position. The main thing is for the recipient to be as comfortable as possible.

There is no need to remove any clothing as Reiki will pass through anything, even plaster casts. The practitioner gently places their hands non-intrusively in a sequence of positions which cover the whole body. The whole person is treated rather than specific symptoms.

A full treatment usually takes 1 to 1½ hours with each position held for several minutes.

A trained Reiki Master/Teacher in the Usui Tradition, Joy works at the very highest level. Training can be given for those wishing to be attuned to the Reiki energies and details will be sent upon request.
Anyone who trains with Complete Therapy can come along to the monthly Reiki shares free of charge. This is a wonderful opportunity to practice your skills and enhance your own personal spiritual development, as well as meet with like minded people. There is also an opportunity to share thoughts and experiences at the beginning of the share.
A Reiki share is just that! Instead of a one to one treatment, a group of Reiki practitioners work simultaneously on the person receiving the treatment. This is a wonderfully powerful experience and deeply relaxing. As a result the duration of the treatment is only 15 to 20 minutes long. This also embodies the principle of giving and receiving.
So for a Reiki share, all areas of the body are treated simultaneously. In a one to one session, the practitioner will begin at the head of the client and work down the body, finishing at the feet. The client remains fully clothed throughout the session and the therapist can either work mainly 'hands on', or 'hands off' the body, at the request of the client. Calming, relaxing music is played if desired, and coupled with soft lighting and maybe a few aromatherapy candles. The therapist does not 'give' anything to the client, but enables the client to promote his or her own self healing.
